Viper Fish

The Viper fish is not a fish you would like to meet when out for a swim and luckily you never will. This fish lives in the depths of the ocean between 500 and 2500 meters deep.

It cannot be kept in captivity in your average fish keepers tank.

The fish grows to 1 foot in length.

It has long fang like teeth which seem to be for picking at small crustaceans rather than attacking.

Very little is known about this fish. It is found in the waters around Australia.

It is a silvery blue colour when alive.

Not much is known about it's breeding habits but it is thought that they spawn externally.
