Lionfish

The Lionfish has a deep reddish brown stocky body of bristles with spiny, venomous fin rays. Its graceful swimming action belies it's stealthy, predatory instinct.

This fish is not suitable for beginners and you should have experience not only with tropical but with marine tanks before you decide to care for it.

This fish lies in wait for its prey which it then engulfs in its large mouth.

It should be handled only with extreme care.

Lion Fish

This fish can grow up to 25cm in length.

It will swim a all levels of the tank and can be very predatory and aggressive. It is carnivorous so will think nothing of eating smaller fish.

The fish is hardy and fairly disease resistant and its care quite simple but remember that those spines and venom are very painful if you get jabbed by one.

If you do get stung you should immerse the wound in water for 30-40 minutes.
