Discus Fish

The remarkable Discus fish is round and laterally flattened like a disc. They are very beautiful and come in a variety of colours. The scales of discus fish sparkle in the light.

These fish are difficult to keep. They need highly specific water conditions and a tank on their own.

Water must be soft, slightly acidic, and kept scrupulously clean.

You can keep several discus fish together but be careful not to overcrowd them.

Discus Fish

These fish can grow up to 20cm in length and are worth quite a bit when they are fully grown.

You will find them in the middle and lower regions of the tank.

They are peaceful fish but are carnivores.

Their brood care when parenting is highly developed with both the parents caring for the young. Additionally, adult discus produce a secretion through their skin, off which the larvae live during their first few days.
