Angel Fish

There are both tropical and marine Angel fish. Tropical Angels have an elegant disc like shape, long flowing fins and graceful swimming action. These fish are highly popular and quite easy to care for. You do have to be careful what fish you put in with them because some will bite angel fish fins. Selective breeding programs have produced a wide variety of colour strains. Tropical Angels can grow up to 5 inches in length. They are peaceful fish and like deep tanks. They are carnivorous.

Marine angel fish are notoriously hard to keep. They often won't eat when first introduced to a tank and you just have to hope they settle in. They are also quarrelsome and scrappy and can grow very large.

One option for marine fish keepers is to try your hand at dwarf angels. They are beautifully coloured and range from three to six inches in size. They are happy with herbivorous foods and will take some meat foods. Dwarf angels are relatively undemanding and very beautiful.
